Rehabilitation of water supply and wastewater systems has been already commenced in semi-urban
areas and villages of Ajara.
30,000 people will benefit from modern water supply and sewerage infrastructure in Ajara dabas
and villages.
Today, the Chairman of the Government of Ajara held a working meeting with the Director of the
Ajara Water Alliance Teimuraz Bedinadze. Tornike Rizhvadze was given a deep insight on the water
and wastewater treatment programme in dabas and villages of Ajara.
6000 families will benefit from modern water supply and wastewater infrastructure.
The programme is being implemented within the framework of German-Georgian Financial Cooperation
and EU financial support to Georgia and has a budget of 59.5 million euros.
The goal of the programme is to introduce modern water supply and wastewater treatment systems
in Ajara, increase investment and tourism attractiveness, improve the social situation of the
population, protect the environment and maintain (reserve) water resources.
